At Coast2Coast, we strive to teach our communities life-saving skills as emergencies happen on a daily basis. We believe it is important to provide accessible training to all which is why many of our first aid and CPR/AED training courses are offered in the Online Blended training format.

The following courses may be registered for and completed in the online blended format: CPR/AED Level A, CPR/AED Level C, Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED Level C and Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C. Each of these courses covers very important life-saving skills which can be used to help someone in need whether it is a family member or a bystander on your way to work.

With the online blended format, complete half of your first aid and CPR/AED training online, then attend an in-class session to practice hands-on skills. Ideal for those with hectic schedules, completing the online component in your own time, then attend an in-class session for a shorter period of time.

All Canadian Red Cross certificates are valid for three years besides Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP). It is important to keep your certificate up-to-date, especially if your workplace or school program requires it. There is a chance that your employer may request that you renew your certificate earlier than the expiration date, and this is normal.

Some employers require their employees to keep their training as up-to-date as possible. After completing a First Aid and CPR/AED training course, people will lose the skills they have learned unless they practice them often. This is why it is important to recertify.

If you wish to recertify your First Aid and CPR/AED with Coast2Coast, you will need to ensure your current certificate is still valid and from the Canadian Red Cross. CPR/AED Level C may be recertified over and over, but for Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C, you must alternate between a full course and a Recertification course.

At Coast2Coast, we understand that those who require Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) training likely have busy schedules. With this in mind, we offer the Basic Life Support course at three different times during the day (schedule varies by month and location): morning, afternoon and evening.

It is important that our healthcare professionals are able to get the training they require, which is why we have recently added afternoon courses to our monthly schedules. Since Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) is only a four-hour training, we are able to provide this course often.

Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certificates are valid for one year, meaning you must recertify your training annually. Keep your skills up-to-date and help save lives of people in your community.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is an electronic device which is used to assist someone who has experienced sudden cardiac arrest. Luckily, AEDs are not difficult to use, but do require to be used correctly to be most effective.

At Coast2Coast, we include AED training in all of our First Aid and CPR training courses. This electronic device can make the difference between life and death which is so important to understand. Learning how to use an AED is simple. During your First Aid and CPR/AED training, you will practice using a couple different types of AEDs. Some AEDs are more basic and only have written instructions whereas a more advanced one may have verbal instructions.

Before April 2019, CPR-HCP had the option to include first aid training in the course, making it simple to complete all necessary training requirements for a job or school program at once. Since then, CPR-HCP has transformed into Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) which is now a separate four-hour training from our First Aid training courses.

At Coast2Coast, we do not offer First Aid training with Basic Life Support training. Instead, students are required to register for each course separately.
